SNAKE BITES

If your dog is bitten by a snake, there may be no cause for concern, as the majority of snakes are nonpoisonous.

Men bor man i ett område med mycket ormar bör man söka veterinär ganska omgående då.

Symptom: The first signs are extreme restlessness, panting, drooling and weakness. They are followed by diarrhea, collapse, sometimes seizures, shock and. in severe cases, death.

Treatment; Keep your dog calm! If bitten on a leg, wrap a constricting band on the affected limb snugly at a level just above the bite wound.- But not excessively tight!
Transport the dog or animal to the veterinarian's or emergency veterinary clinic as quickly as possible. Even if you haven't seen your dog been bite, contact your vet if you see any signs.
