HEARTMASSAGE

Do the animal breath? Does the heart beat? Our dogs heart beats between 60-200 blow in the minute.

Remember that bigger dogs have a lot lower heart frequency, than less dograce.

When the dog becomes afraid or am about to go in shock, the heart frequency increases.

You can feel if the heart is beating by applying your hand on the dog's chest on the left side behind the elbow.

If it is a smaller dog you can take him under both his elbows and feel if his heart is beating. Does the dog breath? If you're unsure you can hold a bit of paper in front of the nose

The heart is not beating - the dog is not breathing

Place the dog on the right side and press some powerful times on his left side of the chest, this stimulate the heart and breathing.

If needed, you runs with artificial mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

Pull out the dog's tounge and cleanse it from soil or other. Put the dog on the side and lay down on your knee at the dog's head.

Close the mouth on the dog and pull a deep breath and blow in air through the dog's nose.

Look after and see if the dog's chest expands, Don't forget to look after if the dog can breath by him self!

Blow in air 4-5 times in the minute., repeat if necessary with CPR.

With smaller race you can place your palm of the hands behind the shoulder blades, and then press together the chest so you empty the lungs from air, release the grip quickly, repeat this every fifth second.

Have in mind that you may need to keep on doing it .up to an hour. Make sure to get to the veterinary immediately.
